NEWPORT HÉRITAGE DIVER is inspired by the diving watches designed by Michel Herbelin in the Seventies, it remains faithful to the maritime hallmarks characteristic of the Newport. As well as embracing sporty French chic, this automatic timepiece is water-resistant to 300 metres and made to be immersed in deep waters with gusto.
The 316L stainless steel case (42 mm in diameter) is cushion-shaped, polished apart from the edges which are brushed, it is crowned by a polished ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel. By way of contrast, the white graduated 60-minute scale – complete with indicator triangle with white luminescent coating – ensures optimum visibility during dives and decompression. The 120 bezel clicks make it easy to handle, even with gloves on, a detail that differentiates top-of-the-range diving watches. Protected by a double-sided domed sapphire glass, ensuring optimal visibility essential for diving, it features oversized hands and hour markers with luminescent coating for excellent readability in the dark. Encircled by a clearly marked minute track and comprising a black on white double day/date aperture for ease of reading, the timepiece is clearly set out by slender white intersecting lines.
Movement is a Swiss automatic ,Sellita SW220-1 calibre with 26 jewels, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a 38-hour power reserve.
